In an interview, Yami Gautam discussed her skin problem, keratosis pilaris, and how people respond to her during shooting. Here’s what the actor had to say about it.
Yami Gautam discussed how people would react to her keratosis pilaris skin issue. Yami said in a new interview that during her shoots, people would advise that her skin be ‘airbrushed or covered.’
In October of this year, Yami Gautam opened up about her skin condition and published several photos of herself on Instagram. The actor described the ailment and stated that she was diagnosed with it as a teenager.
“Writing the article wasn’t difficult; it was liberating,” Yami remarked. It was a difficult trip from the time I learned of my condition to the day I put the post out. People would comment on how it should be airbrushed or hidden when they saw me at the shoot.
Yami had written in her Instagram post, “‘Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it?’ I recently shot for some images and just as they were about to go into post-production (a common procedure) to conceal my skin condition called Keratosis- Pilaris, I thought, ‘Why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it?’ Allow things to be… (Yes, I do speak to myself aloud.)”
